Looking for information on Robert Lonnie Harris. Any info on his family, please respond... His full name is Robert Lonnie Harris. He was called Lonnie but don't know if he changes his name or not after he left home. Lonnis was born 12/26/1898 in Chester, SC. He left home around 1918 give or take a year or two. He was never heard from for sure after he left. There is nothing to go on or any new of him after he left. His mothers name was Mamie Elizabeth (Wooten-maiden name) Harris from Laurinburg, Brockton or Monroe South Carolina. And his father was James Clyde Harris believed to be from Birmingham, Alabama. They were said to have been married in South Carolina????. They had 7 boys and 1 girl. this includes Lonnie. The first one was born in 9/11/1900 next,11/14/1905, 11/1/1908, 9/14/1912 twins-one died.,12/26/1898, 11/3/1902 - he died at age 3years and 3/30/1914. According to my records they moved from Alabama, South Carolina,Florida and North Carolina. Not necessary in that order.
Researching Nathaniel Harris who was listed in the Walton County GA 1830 Census. Also looking for information on West Harris who was listed in the Walton County GA 1830 Census. Was West Harris the son of Nathaniel? I am descendant of Nathaniel Harris' daughter Lucinda (born 1800 GA) who married William Freeman (born 1795 GA). I have found newspaper articles linking Nathaniel Harris to William Freeman, William Harris and Samuel Harris. Samuel Harris was also living near Nathaniel Harris in the 1830 Walton County GA Census and is of an age to have been a son. Was this Samuel Harris the same that married Fanny Huff in Walton County on Dec. 19, 1826? My husband is a descendant of Samuel and Fanny Huff. Samuel Harris is living near William and Lucinda (Harris) Freeman in the Walton County GA 1840 Census. Nathaniel Harris was born in VA and lived in Wilkes County and in the same district as a West Harris but the West Harris in the 1830 Walton County GA Census would have been much younger that the West Harris who was paying taxes in Wilkes County GA as early as 1790. Nathaniel Harris married Susanna Appling the daughter of Thomas Appling. Nathaniel Harris was living with his daughter Lucinda and her husband William Freeman in the 1850 Gwinnett County GA Census. His occupation was listed as a blacksmith. I would like to here from anyone researching these Harris families. Thank You, Pat pfhardin@carolina.rr.com
