As another WASP, may I remind us all that we do not "own" the name Harris. Not all Harris ancestors were English. Some were German, some Irish, etc. Some owned slaves who adopted the surname of their owners. Some ancestors also produced children of mixed race. It is not our duty to judge any of our ancestors, but to learn true facts about them. Those who willingly take time to post their research earn my gratitude and respect. I'm still looking for my Washington Harris & Selma, "BRICK WALL" and hoped to this time being on the Harris List again find them, BUT?? It looks as if I came back to this list at the wrong time again. I joined this list over a year ago and I left it a few months later because of this very thing going on right now, plus the fact my family had never been heard of. Some people pour their heart and soul into putting together info for us that may can use it and the least we can do is GIVE THEM A BIG THANK YOU, or if we don't want something hit DELETE or there are other options. EVERY bit of info no matter what is helpful to some one person of us out here that may make all of the difference in the world to that person "AND THAT MAKES IT ALL WORTH WHILE". Gloria
