Hello, Harris Cousins, My name is Myra Chambers, and I have just named the new Listowner for the Harris mail list. I am not new to list management, I am moderator for eight other lists. I will do my very best to make this an interesting and helpful medium for locating those elusive Harris ancestors. I began genealogy research after I retired about five years ago. I have had many successes, many failures and a lot of fun. I guess you would say I am adicted to genealogy.g I am a gramma who has the ten most beautiful, smartest, and sweetest grandchildren in the whole world. Grin. I know there are those who disagree with me about this.grin There are approximately 350 Harris cousins on this list. I hope you each have had a lot of success in your searches. I think it would be great if we shared some of the successes and some of the failures. Maybe there is a new cousin or two out there who can add to information we have. My paternal grandmother was Mary Edna Harris who was born in 1876 in Benton Co., AR. She married George Edward Lewis, who was born in AL in 1856. They married in Pottawattomie Co., OK. Grandpa Lewis was 20 years her senior and died in Stevens Co., OK in 1939. Granny Lewis died in Stevens Co. in 1953. If I can help you in any way regarding the list, just let me know. If I don't know the answers to your question, I will do my best to find out. Happy hunting, Myra Chambers Listowner ALJACKO, ARLONOKE, ETCHESON, GROSS, HARRIS McCLENNY, McCLURE TIPTON, AND WEST MAIL LISTS
Thank you, Myra, for taking over this responsibility.
