    1. West Harris Researchers Genealogy Swap Weekend
    2. West Harris Researchers Genealogy Swap Weekend A group of us who are West Harris (1715-1795) descendants are planning to meet for a genealogy swap weekend on April 27th and 28th in Eldorado, Montgomery County, NC, which is where West Harris and Mary Turner migrated from Isle of Wight Co., Va. We will share research, visit local sites (churches, cemeteries, etc.) connected with this Harris line, and have an opportunity to copy or purchase pertinent books, maps, and articles. There will be a presentation on Creeksea Estate, the Harris ancestral home of Sir William Harris in Essex County, England. You are welcome to and encouraged to bring cameras, laptops, your research, and photographs. We will have scanners available, so bring your floppies, zip disks, or whatever storage medium you prefer. We are still in the planning stages and welcome your input. We're open to suggestions regarding scheduling, equipment, presentations, etc. Our coordinator has set up a web site for information and planning. http://www2.emji.net/duane/harris.html Here is the link: <A HREF="http://www2.emji.net/duane/harris.html">West Harris Researchers Reunion</A> Please get in touch with Duane Hall through the link on the web site, or reply to my e-mail if you are interested in attending, helping us plan the itinerary, or need further information. 3. I am descended from Thomas Harris through his son Robert Harris, and then through Robert's son, Charles Harris. Thomas Harris (I think) was not only the grandfather of my Charles Harris, but also the grandfather or your West Harris. I would love to get some access, via the web, to some of the information that comes out of this genealogy swap, as time and availability allows... especially that information with regards to Creeksea Estate. I would like to likewise offer more on my own line if and when anyone is interested. I have a web page available which includes information on my branch of this same Harris clan, and will be attempting to make improvements as I can. Please take a look, and let me know if you have suggestions on how I can make it more user friendly. http://www.dkco.com/gen/gendex.html Regards, _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ Daryl Coleman Garland, Texas Homepage: http://www.dkco.com/ Family History Page: http://www.dkco.com/gen/gendex.html Proud Sponsor of RootsWeb! http://www.rootsweb.com/ ICQ UIN # 63679552 _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ AWilliams7@aol.com wrote: > > West Harris Researchers Genealogy Swap Weekend > > A group of us who are West Harris (1715-1795) descendants are planning to > meet for a genealogy swap weekend on April 27th and 28th in Eldorado, > Montgomery County, NC, which is where West Harris and Mary Turner migrated > from Isle of Wight Co., Va.
