I am searching for William T. Harris, born about 1829 in Putnam Co GA, son of Gray Harris and Nancy Fuller. He lived in Putnam Co GA, Chattahoochee Co GA, Stewart Co GA, and Tallapoosa Co AL. The place of his death and burial is unknown. Also virtually nothing is known about any of his children or their descendants. His children alive in 1880 were: William, Walter, Fanny, Robert, Eugene, Emma, Emory, Gertrude, and Gordon. All but Gordon were born in GA. Gordon was born in AL. Although William T. Harris married first Sarah Holloman, all of his surviving children were born to his second wife, Margarete M. _________. Known details about William T. Sarah Hollomon Harris obituary appeared in the Southern Christian Advocate issue of 2-11-58 Methodist Journal. She was referred to as "Mrs. Sarah Harris, daughter of Mark and Mary Hollomon, and wife of Wm. Harris Esq. [No death date given]. Her mother had also died and was the next obituary. Sarah died at her father's residence in Stewart Co GA. In the 1850 Stewart Co GA Census, the Hollomons were living approximately twelve households away from the Harrises in the 19th District. Harris and his ward, John H. Snellings, have transferred residence from Talbot Co GA to Chattahoochee Co GA with Gray Harris as Security. The Georgia Gazetteer: 1881-1882 shows businesses by towns. Lumpkin, Stewart Co GA has William Harris as a Notary and Grocer. The Daily Columbus Enquirer, May 4, 1860, p. 2, c. 1, quotes the following from the [Milledgeville] Southern Recorder--Extra. Apparently moved to Tallapoosa Co AL about 1878, but he buried a son in Stewart Co GA in 1886. The place and time of the death of William T. Harris is unknown.
