    3. Dear Brenda, I've distant cousins who have written me that our HARPERs "knocked the red hair out of us Irishmen for three generations", but I have no proof. My HARPERs were in Johnson county, Illinois by 1832 and the came from Tennessee. I am looking that they came from Smith County, Tennessee, but that hasn't been proven yet either. What are the circumstances and other data that your friend has that can give either of us clues?? Bill Oliver -=- ishta23@netzero.net wrote: > Hi, Would anyone have Harpers that are Native American ? 3. Well you could have some of them sign up for the Harper Surname DNA project. Then you could compare the haplotypes with those of Scots-Irish and Native American. Go to www.FamilyTreeDNA.com and click on Surname projects, H and Harper. All the best. -----Original Message----- From: Bill [mailto:wnoliver@worldnet.att.net] Sent: Monday, March 17, 2003 2:12 PM To: HARPER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [HARPER-L (D)] Re: [HARPER-L (D)] : HARPER------- CREE Native American Dear Brenda, I've distant cousins who have written me that our HARPERs "knocked the red hair out of us Irishmen for three generations", but I have no proof.
