According to my mother he hated Indians because he was a Cherokee Indian, I have no definite proof of this, though. His parents were J. William HARPER and Oralea FRANKLIN. My family has always said that we are 1/64th Cherokee and that would have made one of J.T.'s parents 100% Cherokee Indian. I do not know if this helps or not but if it ties in with what you have please let me know. We are at a dead end with this name and can go no further back that J. William and Oralea.
