    3. I'm enclosing some information & names of my direct line. As I'm new to genealogy, I'm still naïve enough to hope that new names means fresh bait to the other fishermen who enjoy fishing for family. Names are below small synopsis. My father was taken when he was young to be raised by the state of TX. His information on his family line is sketchy (an understatement!) but because I am new to genealogy (or maybe in spite of it) I'm feeling .fairly optimistic that his family line can be traced. All I have is word of mouth from older family members. I'm hoping maybe even her husband &/or other family would be nearby? Here goes! Her name is Anna Lucinda (Weese is her maiden name) Sexton b. 17 Feb 1886 in Grant City MO d. 9 July 1949 in Kansas City, m. to Charles D. Sexton in 10 June 1898 The only child I know of is my Grandmother (her daughter) Name: Mary Magdaline Sexton b. 14 may 1912 in Kansas City, Kansas Died 10-18-91 in Houston TX (I remember Granny saying she had a sister, but I believe she may have said something about other brothers & sisters, she said while their family was traveling on the Kansas Plains in a wagon (they were very poor) they met a traveling preacher on horseback who stayed & ate dinner with them. After two days, her father gave her to the minister to marry (she was 12yrs at the time) & that was the last she saw of her family. When I asked her why her father had given her away, she replied that there was not enough food to feed everyone in the family. She said she cried all the way & was only allowed to carry her doll with her & the clothes on her back. I believe the reason my father was taken from her & my grandfather was due to the neglectful circumstances of the families life. Thanks for you time! Every family finds their stories when they begin this hobby, I'm sure I'll stumble across many more! I think I should post this on a Texas site along with whatever family names I have.
