Sherry & others, Thomas Harper the son of Benjamin and Charlotte Harper born Sept. 28, 1800 Frederick county Virginia actually had 15 children, according to census, the Obit. of Thomas and the Will of Thomas Harper. The children are as follows: Thomas Harper married Mary Jane Mouser in 1826 in Marion County Ohio. The children from this marriage were. 1- Abraham b. 1827 m. Nancy Lippencotte 2- Charlotte E. b. 1829 m. 1st John Rush 2nd William Craver 3- ? male according to 1830 census Marion Ohio 4- Joseph H. 5- Mary J. m. George Ulsh 6- ? male according to 1840 census Mary Jane Mouser Harper died 1841 and Thomas Harper re-married Sybil Tripp 1843, the children from this marriage were as follows: 7- Charles b. abt. 1844 8- Silas b. abt. 1845 9- Benjamin b. abt. 1846 10- Laura P. b. abt. 1847 m. Plotner 11- Frederic W. b. abt. 1848 12- Lewis G. b. abt. 1852 13- Sophia E. b. abt. 1854 M. Tatman 14- Orrin P. b. abt. 1857 15- Eva b. abt. 1859 m. Nole It seems that some of the children went by their middle name, for instance Sophia E. went by Ellen and Frederic W. went by William. According to the Obit of Thomas Harper in 1885 five children preceeded him in death, they must have been Abraham, the two ? in the earlier marriage, Charles and Silas, because they are not mentioned in the will.
