Any Harpers from Harrison or Carroll County out there? I'm looking for a Mary E. Harper that married a Gabriel S. Kail on 5/18/1843 in Leesville, Carroll County OH. This is right smack on the border of Carroll and Harrison Counties, so her family could have been from either. Gabriel was born in 1814, but Mary was probably younger. I would guess she was born around 1820. I have found other Harpers in Carroll County Ohio that are probably related, but I am not sure how. They are: Hugh Harper (b. 1797 in Monohan, Ireland, m. Rebecca Love Semple 3/24/1831 Tuscarawas County, OH, d. 3/20/1872 Carroll County, OH) His children were : 1. William Harper (b. 4/4/1832 Carroll County, OH), 2. Lewis Harper, 3. Margaret Harper, 4. Sararh Harper, 5. John Harper (m. Elizabeth Tressell) , 6. Nancy Jane Harper, 7. Robert Harper (m. Isabel), 8. Eliza Bell Harper, 9. Laura Rebecca Harper, 10. Mary Elizabeth Harper (m. 1/1871 IN Isaac Madison Lee) , 11. Thomas Harper. Robert Harper, Jr. (b. 6/27/1868 Carroll County, OH) son of Robert Harper and Isabel Ellen Florence Harper (b. 5/29/1871 Carroll County, OH) daughter of John Harper and Elizabeth Tressell James Harper (m. Ariel Amos 1837 Carroll County, OH) relation to this family unknown (My guess based on the dates is that Hugh is an uncle and James is a brother or a cousin of my Mary.)
