Hi, I was going thru my many genealogy piles and found this: FYI >From Brinkerhoff's History of Marion County, IL "Shortly after the War of the Revolution...Mr. Tully and his wife...emigrated to Virginia and settled just a few miles west of what is now called Harper's Ferry...." The story goes on to tell of his (Tullys) murder at Harper's Ferry .. "The murderers were the notorious Harpe brothers known throughout the West as Big Harpe and Little Harpe.... from that time the ferry was called Harper's Ferry." The Tully line is my family line.
