At the request of several people I am posting the follow up article in The Tulsa Tribune March 12, 1930. $70 Donated Toward Burial of Mother of Civil War Veteran A fitting burial for Mrs. Hannah Harper, Tulsa mother and wife of heroes of wars of our country, who died Sunday night at the age of 102, has been assured by generous-hearted Tulsans, but still more must be added to prevent her being buried in potters' field. Monday morning Mrs. A. B. Ellis superintendent of the Tulsa East Side Sanitarturm, told The Tribune of the pathetic circumstances surrounding the death of the woman. Her children had exhausted every resource caring for her and were unable to provide funds for burial, Mrs. Ellis said. The Tribune published the story together with an appeal for assistance and Mrs. Ellis worked to secure aid and almost enough money has been secured. A plot in Memorial Park has been donated by the American War Mothers' Association, Mrs. T. S. Truelove, president, announced and she will be buried in the section set aside for mothers of war heroes. Tuesday morning $70 had been subscribed.
