In response to Linda McDaniel Smith, My husband's grandfather's name was Joseph Caswell Harper. His family came from Virginia (Robert Harper & Margery Payne). But for the life of me, I can't seem to make a connection to any other Caswell Harpers. There was a Caswell Harper b.abt 1846 in AL (son of Wilkins Harper, b.1811 GA)in Perry County, AL that moved to Texas (I have a copy of his civil war pension application with the State of Texas.) There is also a Caswell Harper who married in Knox County, TN. My son has carried on the name. I hope I can connect it to the source. Any suggestions?
