I suspect your William Harper was the son of John Harper [1800- 1884, b. , Berkeley Co., VA son of Samuel Harper [1766-1855] & Sarah Cunningham . This family goes back to Oxfordshire, England. Samuel d. Champaign Co., OH and is buried, buck Creek Cem near Urbana, OH.
