Mitzie is completely right!! There is NO proof of Benjamin Harper being born in 1770 or that he was married in 1792. I have no idea where that ever came from. Maybe that is why we keep hitting a brickwall when it comes to Benjamin. Someone could have just assumed those were about the dates because of the 1810 census(Frederick County Virginia). The 1810 census lists Benjamin Harper- 26-45 years old, 1- females -26-45 years old, 3 boys under 10, 3 boys 10-16. Census records before 1850 are so unreliable because of the age groupings. Only 5 sons were listed in Benjamin will(1817), John, Thomas, George Hiett, Levi, Benjamin. I think if I remember right the 1820 census also list a girl somewhere in there. We have pretty much narrowed down that he did marry Charlotte Hiett but when is anybodies guess. Charlotte was the Daughter of George Hiett who died in 1787 near the town of Middleway, Berkeley County(now Jefferson). She was a little difficult to find because Georges will only consisted of placing his minor children. She was found in his estate final acct. Where and when they married is anybodies guess! Liane, if you are going to continue to insist that Benj was born @ 1770 and married in 1792....you had better show proof or correct your postings. Mom Benton! Would you have any Harper information concerning Morrow County, Ohio? "My" Linton Harper came to Muskingum Co., Ohio in 1816 (was b. in Va 1811), married Susan Galer 24 Aug. 1831 in Licking Co. Ohio. (she was b. June 24, 1812 Licking Co. Ohio) They both d in Morrow Co., she in 1876, and he in 1875. I know Huron Co. Ohio is north of Morrow, but I was hoping for some connection (aren't we all???) I have all their children- if you want them- just let me know. Dolly in Ohio
