I've "rescued" the framed original marriage certificate belonging to Ernest A. HARTWELL & Alice A. HARPER both of Spencer Creek, Michigan who were married in Spencer Creek on the 24th of October 1890 by the Rev. George S. ROHNSON. Witnesses to the marriage were Eastman HARPER and Alice HARTWELL. Based on limited research I believe that Ernest HARTWELL b. 1862-63 may have been the son of John & Ann HARTWELL who with their 5 children (Martha, Ernest, Lulu, Alice, and Alfred) were in Helena, Michigan during the 1880 census. John HARTWELL and his two oldest children were listed as having been born in Canada, with his wife Ann born in England. The remaining HARTWELL children including Ernest were born in Michigan. I'm hoping to find someone from their family so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
Researching ancestors of my GGrandmother, Jane Burn Harper, Born in 1846 in Sunderland. On 18/11/1866 she married Jonathan Dunn. Witness at the wedding was George Burn. Jane's father Thomas Harper is listed as deceased and as 'formerly a Farmer'. I have no other information on the Harper family. This is another one of those rare (but, regrettably, increasingly necessary) warning posts regarding viruses and Anti-Virus software. In the last few hours another flood of posts claiming to be from Microsoft, and/or claiming to contain files to patch a security hole in Microsoft products, has begun to hit Internet e-mail. THESE POSTS ARE INFECTED. Under no circumstances should you attempt to open, run, or view the file that is attached to one of these messages. Microsoft NEVER distributes security patches by e-mail. The major AV software suppliers have issued updates to their programs to catch and disinfect this virus. Please ensure that your AV software is the most current version and is right up-to-date. Patricia You mentioned you had early OHIO Harper's. I have a LINTON HARPER b. 12/24/1800 in ? Va. or Licking Co. Ohio and mar. SUSAN GALER on 8/24/1831. They both d in Morrow Co. Ohio (1875 )and (1876.) They had six children. I have looked high and wide for Linton's parents. (for years) However, there is an ABRAHAM HARPER from Licking Co. Ohio, mentioned in the 1820 same census- Linton's age about works out, but not perfect. He is also in the 1830, then a troublesome age for the 1840 census. However, a LInton D. has a 1835 tax duplicate that would agree with the age. ABRAHAM has three land listings- and so far no will. Do you have any information on this ABRAHAM? I figure his b. would be approx. 1775 Thanks for your help and thoughts! Dolly

Samuel S Harper (b: 26 Feb 1837; d: 26 Feb 1914, Port Harrelson (near), Horry County, South Carolina; buried: Bucksport - Hebron Methodist Church, Horry County, South Carolina. Samuel Harper was married to Sarah Catherine Sellers and they had 8 children, seven boys and a girl, my grandmother, Isa. I have details on Samuel Harpers descendants but nothing about his ascendants. Is Samuel S Harper's family familiar to anyone? Thanks Charles Boyd Atlanta
