Military: Was boatswain on the schooner Liberty under Commodore Smith in 1775, also was a gunner on the Andrew Doria in 1776 in Continental Navy. Mine came from PA early in the 1800's, then to Delaware, Champaign and Clark Co's, OH. From there to Lee Co, IA and DeWitt County, IL. Another split took some to Nebraska and some to Crawford Co, KS.     3. I am seeking info on John Garrett Harper b. 1849 Miss. m. 1868 Elizabeth Ann Monroe. They had 5 children John Garrett, James Alfred, Sarah Evelyn, Mary Catherine & Samuel. I believe all of the children were born in the Sugartown, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana area. John Garrett Jr. is buried in Shiloh Cemetery in Beauregard Parish. The story goes on to tell of his (Tullys) murder at Harper's Ferry .. "The murderers were the notorious Harpe brothers known throughout the West as Big Harpe and Little Harpe.... from that time the ferry was called Harper's Ferry." The Tully line is my family line.
