Found this list in some old papers, really do not know who they are. My mother talked to the Nancy Harkey that is listed, but that was at least 15 yrs. ago or longer. Here is what was written: George Harkey b. 1804 NC m. Martha McMasters. This seem to correspond with what Mary Russell has, except Marthas name is written as Martha Swan Masters b. 1821, d. 1847., & George d. 1856. Solomon Harkey - Georgia (nothing else written). Lon Harkey - Union, Tenn. ( " " " " ) John Calvin Harkey b.? 1860. Irving, IL. m. Julia M McClure. Their son: Jesse Ray Harkey b. 1884. Hillsboro, IL. his son: James Harkey (was age 68 at time of this conver sation)., wife - Nancy. They had 4 children. A dau. Julia Harkey living in Webster Groves, MO., a suburb of St. Louis, MO. Also mentioned was a ranch in Uba City, CA., called Harkey Corners. Plus a Julia Harkey Schween in Madison, Wisc. Another Nancy Harkey was married to Gordon Jenkins, orchester leader in the 1930's or 1940's. Lastly a Bob Harkey, race car driver, lived in Speedway or Indianapolis, Indiana around the 1960s - 1970s. Hope this is helpful to someone. Maurene T.
