The only thing that even tinkles a bell below is a long shot but there was a "Lon" Harkey (full name Alonzo Washington Harkey 1876-1959) in my line who lived mostly in Weakley County, TN which is adjacent to Obion County with a County Seat of Union City, TN. I know Lon's father was William Albert Harkey (1854-1930) and his father was Rueben Harkey (1817 NC - 1855 TN). I can't place Reuben with any of the NC Harkey's. Do we know the father of George Harkey b 1804 mentioned below? George Harkey born in 1804 was a son of Martin Luther Harkey 1771 and Christine Mensinger. That son George is the one married Martha Swan Masters or was it McMasters( can we get proof on her name?) This George died in Irving Illinois. in 1856 I have two Alonzos in my data but none born 1876. I have a William Albert but born abt 1849 and a son of David Monroe 1826 in NC. I have three Ruebins and one Rubin but none born in 1817. We know about that Harkey line that went to Yuba City CA. Part of it from the Martin line stayed up in the Northern part of CA. and part from George Martin Harkey line went on down into Ventura County.
