Thanks for the generation chart for Dawalt HARKEY. His name in Europe probably is/was Dewald or Dewalt, which may explain why it was spelled Daywalt in the 1840 census. The chart doesn't show where the children were born. I'm still wondering where he was between the 1840 and 1860 censuses. That an odd entry for Dawalt's fourth child: iv. ZELAS ALEXANDER HARKEY,DR., b. 1845; m. MARY ELIZABETH BARCLAY. Don't you think it's an error, giving him a medical or academic doctorate? In the 1860 census, when he was 15 years old, his name is given as DOCTOR. In the 1900 KS census, his name is DOCK and he's a farmer. Alma
