    3. Can someone help me identify this Harkey from the Obituary and Death notices of Pope County, Arkansas by J.B. Lemley & Elaine Weir Obit August 13, 1896- this community was shocked last Saturday morning to hear of the death of one of our best and most promising young men- John D. Harkey, one of the few remaining pioneers of Pope County, at the family residence near town. John had sick but a few weeks, and his illness was not considered at all serious until Thursday before his death. The funeral, one of the saddest ever witnessed here, was held Sunday morning at the Christian Chruch, services being conducted by the Revs. McWilliams, Granger and Green. After the cermony the cortege repaired to the Russellville Cemetery, where the remains were laid to rest in the family burying ground, in the presence of a large concourse. The deceased had just entered his twenty-second year, and had been a member of the Christian church about four years. Thanks Judith Harkey Carley
