The article says that the home of Herman Rose, an Indiana realtor, became the center of the organization, so I thought Luther might live in the same region--Indiana, Ohio, or Illinois, all HARKEY strongholds. I found a Luther HARKEY in a likely state at the SSDI: HARKEY, LUTHER 288-05-8574 OH  13 Jul 1904  Oct 1966  OH  Hicksville, Ohio 43526  I didn't find Luther HARKEY in the 1910 OH Miracode, but I did find a HARKEY family in the 1900 OH census living in Hicksville, Defiance Co., OH. Chances are, it's his family: 1900 OH Defiance Co. Hicksville Twp (1263 1 153), hh 133-142 HARKEY JOHN J. head Jul 1863 36 m12 IN OH OH sawyer circle --Minnie wife Mar 1866 33 m12 4ch/2liv GER (1872) GER GER --Floyde son Dec 1894 5 s OH IN GER --Harry son Feb 1897 3  OH IN GER If someone has the 1880 census for Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, he/she might be able to find John J. HARKEY. It sure is interesting how and where Harkeys pop up! Good eye, Nina! Alma
