Tess, I looked through 4 gedcom files There were several Davids but as far as I can tell only One Daniel David. I found two dates for his birth. 1798, Nov 13, 1797 and then the one you said March 25, 1797.Tomb stones can be wrong but I am more likely to accept the statement by a direct descendant. The november date could have been a typo. What about the dates of his marriages? Aug 11, 1818 to Margaret Thompson and Dec, 17, 1822 to Mary Elizabeth Bankston? Are those right? Do you have a photo of that stone that you could share? I am collecting photos of Harkeys and tombstones of Harkeys.
