    3. Hello all, I have been reading the many postings that have been sent out today. After looking in all of my various notes from several Harkey groups I also don't find a Louis. Could the spelling originally been wrong? I did find an Elizabeth Hartis b. 1770 married to John V Harkey Sr. b. 1765 Mecklenburg NC d. 1821 Mecklenburg NC. This John is listed as the 1st son of Martin and Catherine Barringer. The information was sent to me from Betty Jo Beck in Lakeland, FL. as a computer print out and no sources are listed. Betty Jo if you are part of this group please respond. With all of the different spellings of the name Harkey before the American version, I'm wondering if some how there is more than one immigrant into this country, perhaps even after out 1743 Lydia ship, that are confusing the issue. Has anyone solved this possibility? Also, do we have proof to tie our Martin and Johannes into the German Church records? Too bad they didn't sail out of Hamburg a few years later and get registered! Keep up the conservation. I believe we will eventually find a descendent from Martin and David's brother John. Until later, Kay Wood from Martin's son Henry Go Gators!
