Dear Betty, I don't know if you've found the right surname group or not in HARKEY, but if it turns out you have, then all the rest of us will be big-time winners. Not I as yet, but others in the group have been researching the Harkey roots in Europe. Could you give us an idea of when your HARTKE family came to North America and where they went? At this point, I think all of us belong to a family that probably arrived around 1743 into s.e. Pennsylvania and then spread into Virginia and the Carolinas, and then south and west.
