Sandra, Martin Harkey born 1744 had two brothers a John and a David. We have descendants of David on this list . No one so far has any information on this John who was born in 1746. This is too early for your John Sr. but might be a grandpa to yours. Also David who was a loyalist during the Rev. war had a son George Martin Harkey b 1771 who had sons David Robert b 1797--- JOHN b. 1800 --- Isaac Mathias b. 1802 and James b 1805. Maybe this John is yours and someone has the dates wrong. David's line lived in Mechlenburg Co,. His wife Mary returned there to live after David's death.
