Hi All! After doing a little more research on Bascom Somerfield Harkey, I have found he died Oct 18 1940 m: Mamie Jones who was the d/o Henry T. Jones and Mary Pritchard. This couple had at least one dau - Lora Harkey who was b: Jul 17 1905 and m: John Benton Scott in Jun 1928. Bascom Somerfield Harkey was the s/o Wilburn David Harkey and Margaret McEachern. Wilburn David Harkey was the seventh son of Daniel David Harkey, Sr.(who by the way also a seventh son) and Mary A. "Betty" Bankston. This couple had nine sons: Samuel Jones, William A, Daniel David Jr, Wilburn David, Hiram, Newsom and Newton (twins), Francis M. and Jasper H. All born in GA. Margaret was the d/o of Lewis McEachern who was born in Scottland. Margaret had a sister, Sarah E. "Betty", who married Samuel Jones Harkey - brother to Wilburn David. Wilburn and Margaret had at least six sons, but I've only gotten the names of four - Lee, Thomas, Fletcher and Bascom Somerfield. Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated.
