We need some kind of coding system so that we can distinguish all these Johns! Every time I try to write on this topic, I get seasick. (Kay, the John HARKEY who Nancy says died in 1796 was Sidney Levi's grandfather, not his father. Sidney Levi's father John died 1865 in Illinois.) I agree with Kay and Mary: We go around and around with the same information, some of it reliable, some of it questionable. We need to hear from descendants of more HARKEY lines. And we really need documentation. As far as I can recall, we have heard from descendants of one child of David HARKEY (b abt 1750), namely, George Martin HARKEY (b abt 1774). Does anyone know whether David had more children and who they were? So many avenues left to explore! Alma
