Hi-- From what I have seen posted here , and from searching for several years and talking to other Harkey researchers--We all seem to claim Johannes Herche who entered America aboard the ship "Lydia" Sept. 19, 1743. During the last two years on the internet, I have also found a descendant of a John Hershey and a descendant of a Johannes who carries the name of Hinch --- both who claim Johannes as theirs. I have the passenger list of Lydia. I have the signature if it is his. I can not reach a conclusion based on that alone. My question is ---Do any of you have any other proof or documentation that our emigrant ancestor was Johannes Herche? Mary Russell [email protected]
