    3. Well, everyone, I made it to the reunion and I can't tell you how terrific it was. Our Harkey/Taylor lineage are a fine group of people who have history at every corner!! I learned a lot of things while I was there, took a lot of pictures of headstones, homes and real live individuals!!! A new book is being released called "Surviving on the Texas Frontier" by Sarah Harkey Hall...It is great...she was one of the original 13 children left to Joe Harkey to raise when his parents died...Another book, "Mean As Hell" by Dee Harkey is written by Sarah's brother...another book of interest is "Old Timers of Wallace Creek"...all stuff about the Harkey families. There were around 100 folks that attended. On Sturday night there was the best Catfish fry...hush puppies, fried onions and french fries, too. Then on Sunday we met in the Community Center for a wonderful feast. They hold an auction of crafts and stuff to help pay for the community center, food and such...the oldest peerson attending is 87 years old and we had a wee one about 3 weeks old...5 new children born since last year...Riley Harkey passed away the week prior to the reunion. I obtained a family album/lineage from Barbara Harkey/Horn that she and Gladys had put together last year...lots of pictures!! I also borrowed a copy of the lineage book that O.B. Harkey put together...as I get through these things I will share!! Well, I missed everyone on the net...I told the computer and net users about this connection and hopefully we will hear from lots of new kin folks...can't tell you how much fun I had!!! Talk to everyone soon and hope all is great for everyone!! Laura
