    1. [HARKEY-L] Correction RE: Lee E HARKEY parents
    2. Hello again-- My guess last night about Lee HARKEY's parents is wrong, and thanks to Sid Brown's note this morning I can correct it quickly. I said "it looks as though they were John and Salina HARKEY." Sid says: >> No, I think it was Lewis Ellison Harkey, son of Martin Luther and Catherine Conder Harkey who moved from GA to TX and where he died in Upshur Co., 5 May 1865. Remember the message stated that "after the Civil War, Lee built a cotton gin." That makes him born before 1845. I think Lee is a nickname for Lewis and check the Martin/Catherine page and you will see he was born in 1828. Your Lee on the census was born about 1870. >> Thanks, Sid! Alma
