My John Weilie HARKEY was born November 20, 1824 in Cabarrus County NC, near Mt. Pleasant. He married Margaret Corl Nov. 4, 1844, he had a child by her and she died soon after(child named Margaret). John remarried March 2, 1851 in Cabarrus County, NC. John is listed in the Cabarrus Co.1850 census pg.433A hh 461, living single with Peter Lentz and wife. He is listed as a taylor (sic). also his future wife, Mary C. Ridenhour, age 16, residing with Caroline Ridenhour, age 47. pg.482A hh 1219. Next census is, Iredell County, NC. 1860. John is listed age 35, with Mary,age27 with Margaret age 14,James,age 6 and William(my Great grandfather)age 3. Apparently they moved to Illinois around 1862-63 as in later censuses tell of the birth of John F. and Lucy in Illinois. I found John and family in Phelps County Missouri census, dated 1870. Pg 27 ,hh 195, St. James township. Mary C. is next found in the 1880 census pg 17, St. James Township, hh 25. Living as head of household along w! ith JohnF. Lucy, Laura A., Fred W. and Cora E.. I am interested in the 1900 census you have concerning John in Burnet County, Texas. Do you have the page, household numberand district, etc? Of course if this your John Weilie HARKEY then Lucy would by my GGGreat Aunt. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me. Regards Jerry Edward HARKEY
