I have noticed all the traffic lately on this list and think it's great so maybe it would be a good time for me to post who I'm looking for. My grandfather was John Daniel Harkey, born March 1, 1873 in Gentry county Missouri. His parents were John S. [Solomon?] Harkey and Susannah R. Shaffer. John married Catherine Delilah VULGAMORE November 15, 1888 in Sedgwick County, Kansas. I'm looking for information on the children from this marriage and perhaps getting in touch with some of the descendants. Here are the names of some of the children and their birthdates. I only have a death date for two of them: George Harkey--11/27/1889 William Harkey--11/26/1891 Clarence Harkey--4/23/1894 Harry Harkey--9/17/1896 Catherine Harkey--11/10/1898 --- 2/17/1974 Viola Harkey--4/2/1901 Mary Harkey--7/10/1903 --- 4/7/1998 Catherine died shortly after giving birth to their 8th child in 1907. The child died a few days later. They are both buried in Grandview Cemetery, Grandview, Iowa. John married Roselie WATSON after Catherine died. These would be my grandparents and believe it or not, I don't know when or where they were married. My mother, Gladys Elizabeth Harkey was born August 4, 1913. I have no idea where she was born.
