About 25 years ago I did some research on Hardings and came across William of Chicago, source of Harding Avenue, also a Harding who was prominent in the railroad and was out of the Galesburg/Monmouth [Illinois] area and Col. Abner C. Harding who was a State Representative [Illinois] 1865-1868 following a stint as commander of the 83rd Reg. Inf. in the Civil War. Unfortunately the rest of my notes did not survive multiple moves. I don't recall if they were all related to one another or not. The note on Abner survives because I wanted to see if he was related to my Daniel. Cheryl Rothwell clrothwell@mindspring.com
