    1. [HARDING-L] Rootsweb
    2. Rootsweb needs financial support. Why should you help? What do you get from Rootsweb? If you are reading this message you are using Rootsweb. Almost every time you go to a USGenWeb page you are using Rootsweb. They donate the space FREE so it can be made available to all. They provide space for over 6,300 mailing lists, some geographic and others surnames like this one. There is even a medieval genealogy list that works for genealogy and history types. If you haven't checked out the lists you should. They also provide space for the GenConnect surname query boards. Have you checked those out lately? They provide space for CindisList, THE list of genealogy links. The list grows. All of this is FREE to you, the user. If they slap on a monthly or annual fee it would limit this resource to an elite group. So it will remain free. But if you use it and you can contribute please consider it. http://www.rootsweb.com Cheryl Rothwell clrothwell@mindspring.com

    2. My Daniel Harding married and Elizabeth Wilson in Ohio about that same time. We believe they were both born in VA but married in Ohio. Interesting in that it is the same combination of names although I don't know of any connection. Have you posted queries on the web sites of those two Ohio counties? 1. [HARDING-L] Wilbur J. Harding
    2. This message to the list went astray: Someone, on the list, ask about purchasing a book written by Wilbur J. Harding. I saw a reference to the book at Higginsons Books http://www.higginsonbooks.com/h.htm#har . The Publishing Company Reprints "on request"..... wish I could give a *good words* on the Company.... ordered a book from them about three months ago and haven't seen the book yet... nor an explanation as to the reason for a delay. Good Luck, Connie Cheryl's Addendum: Higginson Books is terrible at responding to email and extremely slow. I have a couple books on order and have been chewing nails. However, I am told that this behavior is normal, 3-4 months is not an unusual wait and it is worth it. I'm still waiting. I note they have not charged my credit card so I guess it is okay. But I certainly think they could acknowledge orders. 2. This is from Ancestry.com's newsletter: According to an MSNBC article on "A Family Tree That Spans the Net" NBC News will be airing a weeklong series on genealogy called, "Finding Our Roots," beginning on April 19. According to the message: "NBC anchors Tom Brokaw, Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, Ann Curry, Al Roker, Jane Pauley, and Stone Phillips go looking for their ancestors, from Romania to Japan. We'll have a guide to finding your own family tree, links to some of the top databases, and reviews of genealogical software." 2. Howard
    3. I would like to correspond with anyone who has done research on the HARDING family of Bucks Co. They started out at least in the 1700s as Quakers. I have HARDING ancestors here with the given names of Rachel, Thomas, and John Thomas with their spouses and some dates, but my main source is the WFT CD-ROM series, which often has errors and evidential support is difficult to obtain. I just don't want to cover the same ground if it's been done already by skilled hands. Howard Speck

    3. Hi! I'm new to this list and am hoping to find some connections :-) My name is Donna White and I am helping my husband research his family. We found our WHITE family in the Barnstaple, Devon census in 1851 in England. We also found the following census information on a HARDING family and we hope this is Hannah HARDING WHITE's parents and siblings, but have no proof as of yet. Though the names of many of Hannah's children are the same as the would-be siblings listed here. Does anyone know this family? If so, do you know if they also had a daughter Hannah? 1851 Census Name Relationship Mar Age Sex Occupation Birthplace Samuel HARDING Head M 60 M Farmer Fremington-DEV Mary HARDING Wife M 51 F Farmers Wife Beaworthy-DEV Susanna HARDING Daur U 23 F Farmers Dau Fremington-DEV Mary A.
