First residing at Moscow and in 1863 he settled at Hortense. He was a Confederate soldier, having served in Crosson's Company, Green's Brigarde and was a Lieutenant Captain at the close of the was. Winston resigned, Sept. 7, 1863. Dec. 1863, in command of the Company in the Red River Campain, La. Jan 1863(4) to serve in Brigade Headquarters. Until disbanded, May 1865, Hempstead, Texas. Surrendered by E. Kirby Smith, June 2, 1865, Galveston, Texas. NA; ITC REC John A.
