known that John (III), who was married to Sarah Campbell, was the son of John and Margaret and the grandson of John and Grizel. As far as we know John and Margaret had two sons; a. William Handley, born about 1749, married Keziah Caile, daughter of David and Alberdina Caile, died August 37, 1836, at Lewisberg, West Virginia. Their children were; (1) Archibald Handley, born 1782, married first, Bettie Barbee, married second, Ellen Handley, died March 17, 1879. (2) William Handley, married Katherine Steele, December 16, 1799, died in 1840.. (3) John Handley, born in 1785, married Elizabeth Shanklin on April 3, 1812, died September 21, 1875.. (4) Mary (Polly) Handley, born in 1787, married William Shanklin, died April 7, 1867. (5) Margaret (Peggy) Handley, born August 1, 1789, married a man named Campbell, died December 17, 1861. (6) Sarah Handley, married first, John Welch, married second, John S. Wilson, died april 7, 1867. (7) Elizabeth Handley, married a man named Gabbert, died January 6, 1830. b. John Handley, born about 1852, married Sarah Campbell, daughter of John and Hanna Campbell, died March 23, 1834 at Renick, West Virginia. Renick is a small village in Greenrier County, West Virginia.Sarah died May 28, 1825. John and Sarah are buried in the Old Graveyard near the Renick Presbyterian Church. John's will was probated in June 1834 (Greenbrier County Records, Will Book #2, Page 26) Their children were; (1) William H. Handley, born July 20, 1777, died in October 1833. (2) Isaac Handley, born November 28, 1778, died February 2, 1841. (3) John C. Handley, born March 2, 1781, died in September 1782. (4) Mary Handley, born May 3, 1783, married William Fountian Livesay on July 22, 1809, died November 11, 1876, near Napoleon. Missouri. They has a number of descendants living in west Central Missouri. (5) Grezella Handley, born August 18, 1785, married William Caraway on July 8, 1821, died September 5, 1842, in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. (6) Rebecca Handley, born March 9, 1788, died August 11, 1811. (7) John Handley, born May 30, 1790, married Hannah Cruikshanks on September 4, 1817, died December 20, 1824 in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. He is buried in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Renick, West Virginia. (8) Robert H. Handley, born March 31, 1792, married Mary McClintic on July 11, 1816, died October 10, 1845 in Lafayette County, Missouri. He lived on a farm five miles south of Aullville, Missouri. He changed the spelling of his name to Handy for some unknown reason. They has a number of descendants living in west Central Missouri. (9) Samuel Handley, born August 17, 1794, died October 5, 1814. (10) Joseph Handley, born August 31, 1796, married first, Elizabeth Betsy Brown on June 23, 1825, she died September 21, 1827, he married second, Jemina Byrd on September 30, 1830, married a third time to Mary Hanna on October 10, 1837, died March 4, 1872 in Greenbrier County, West Virginia.
