The familytreemaker does the "fan" charts.Condensed and fast. When i first started i got a folding foam board at Staples and then printed out the lines in individual "descendant tree" lines and thumbtacked them to the board under their father until i got them to a point they were done. Then a lot of "scotch tape" to tie them together overlapping so i could fold up the lines when the "board" closed. It was an easy way to change or add to the family and my cousin could see all the generations without turning pages. When it was done i stapled or taped since the thumbtacks would occasionally fall out. If a family had 6 children i used 6 different colored papers to print each family. It looks like a rainbow but it keeps that line together down the board. Hope this gives you some other creative ways to display. Carol
