Thanks to Dean Johnston, there is a manuscript on-line now about the Descendants of Jeremiah Handley at: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/1756/jer-dean.htm Jeremiah's wife, parents, and birthdate are not known, but his first children were born around 1780. These Handley's settled in Ohio and Indiana. Since there was already another file about another Jeremiah Handley, there is now an index of Jeremiah Handley's at: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/1756/jeremiah.htm There is a new section on the main Handley Genealogy Index page for links to manuscripts. When you get the chance to see your page, please let me know if there is anything that needs fixing. I added some bolding, and centered some of the section titles (like Generation 1, etc) Thanks so much for the info. Nancy

<< Nancy - Is the Handley web site still up and running? I was unable to find it through my bookmark or through various searches last evening? >> It's still there - just now checked. There are some problems with AOL sometimes, but the Handley (et al) family site is still at: http://members.aol.com/Sftrail/handley/ I do have a spare copy of just the index at: http://victorian.fortunecity.com/literary/463/handley/ and that's where the 1% of the 1880 census of Handleys file is, too: http://victorian.fortunecity.com/literary/463/handley/1880.htm The links on the index page at FortuneCity probably don't all work right. I started moving it over there this week, thinking that - because of some questions about John and William Handley's off-spring - we may want to change some of the family information from the AOL site. We'll see. Nancy
Thank you for the information. I don't think this is my Thomas Handley. My Thomas was 18 years of age in 1860, a resident of Moniteau County - about half way across state from St Louis - and he was going by HANLEY at that time of his life. Thank you again! Some of you might have fun with this. 1% of the 1880 USA census is transcribed and on-line. I've just set up a page linking to the Handley, Handly, Hanley, Hanly family members who are included in this 1%. The page has their names and you click on the state for family data. The page is at: http://victorian.fortunecity.com/literary/463/handley/1880.htm Nancy

Kit, you are the second one requesting this. 417-845-7089 Central time zone Nancy << Please send me the phone number tor Randy Handly. Randy Handly has 2 Handly Family History books for sale, at $20.00 a piece. My guess is that it is first come, first served. Randy Handly PO Box 515 Anderson, MO 64831 I'll send his phone number individually, if anyone asks for it. Randy says we can put his book on-line with the understanding that he has additional and correcting information now that would not be included. He does not have the book on a disc, so if anyone is interested in transcribing it and you can get hold of a copy, we could use volunteers. If someone has a copy of the book and would like to coordinate the project by making assignments and copies of a few pages at a time and mailing the copies to volunteers, that would be great. Any transcribing volunteers who don't have the book could pay the coordinator for the copies and postage. I would be willing to code transcribed pages that are emailed to me and upload them to a site more permanent for genealogy than my AOL account. (Probably Rootsweb) Nancy
I am looking for information on my great-grand father, Chandler P. Handley, b. 2/1856 in Ohio (?). He was married (date unknown) to Mary Weber, b. 2/1866 in Iowa. They had four children: John, b. 3/1883 in Kansas, Agnes Marie (my grandmother) b. 8/1885 in Iowa, d. 1956 in Richmond, CA., Charles, b. 8/1892 in Iowa, and Alice, b. 2/1895 in Iowa. Agnes Marie married Ralph Clarence (R.C.) Ferrell (date unknown). They had three children: Ruth, b. (?), died of scarlet fever, Ralph Clarence (Pat) Ferrell, Jr. (my dad), b. 12/29/1911 in Des Moines Iowa, d. 10/3/69 in San Francisco, CA., Rosetta, b. (?). My grandfather, R.C. Ferrell, died in the early 1930's. He may have been an electrician or worked for the railroad in Iowa. I have no other information on him. Thanks for any info you may have to share Kathy Farrell-Wicks P.S. In the mid-1940's my dad changed his name from Ralph Clarence Ferrell, Jr. to Ralph Patrick Farrell. I have found no clue as to why. He was married seven times and I know of three children but... the mystery continues.
