    1. [HANDLEY-L] Zenas & Emaline( Karnes) Handley
    2. John M. Forbes
    3. Zenas Handley and Emaline Karnes I am told were married in 1841. Zenas' father was William Handley. William's will was proved in September 1840 and does mention Zenas as one of his sons. My question is does anyone know if Zenas and Emaline Handley had any children. My ggrandmother's death certificate lists Emaline Karnes as her mother, but it lists John Handley as her father. John Handley is not listed as Emaline Karnes husband, but rather Zenas. Can anyone out there confirm the Zenas and not John was married to Emaline Karnes? And can anyone list any of their off spring? Thanks. Kathie Forbes jforbes@nwrain.com

    2. Hi. I'm forwarding this request from Kathy (at jforbes@nwrain.com) to all of you at the Handley List. If anyone has info on this family, please be sure to include an answer to her at her email address, since I don't believe that she is a member of the group yet. Thanks. Nancy << From: jforbes@nwrain.com (John M. Forbes) To: sftrail@aol.com ('sftrail@aol.com') I am trying to find my great grandmother's parents. My ggrandmother is Nannie Handley. She married Gouverneur Morris Forbes in 1877. They lived in Salt Lake City, UT when my grandfather, Morris Handley Forbes was born in 1886. Nannie died in Portland OR in 1941. Her death certificate lists John Handley and Emaline Karnes as her parents. Can you help me find them? Thanks, Kathie Forbes >>

    2. Hi Nancy: I've really been busy for the past year pursuing another one of our lines - the WILSON family, so I've missed out on the HANDLEY/HANLEY conversations and information. I would like to join My FAMILY Site, if you have room for one more. Ruth Doss Hanley and Richard E. Hanley, Sr.

I've just set up a site for anyone who wants to share (or get) information about the Handley, Hanley, Handly, etc. family. The site let me invite 10 people at first, so I picked some email addresses off the subscribers of this list. Most of you didn't get a personal invitation, so if you want to at least look around the new site, please let me know. MyFamily sends you a personal code to join, and only people who are invited can find the site. We can upload pictures and files, and can also set up family tree info, without having your own GED COM program. It's all free. The family tree info can be made public, but I'm not sure if the pictures and file data becomes public beyond our own group or not. Anything you post can be read and downloaded by other members of our MyFamily group, at any rate. Let me know if you want to check it out. Thanks. Nancy Sween http://members.aol.com/Sftrail/handley/

    1. [HANDLEY-L] Join & Source Question
    2. Nancy, Please inculde me in your next update. Thank-you, Kristine P.S. Could we start documenting our Handley family information? I would love to know the sources from which we get our Handley ancestors, this way we know how much "confidence" to give the info. Does anyone else feel this same concern? ------------------------------------------------------ Get the Latest News at CNN Interactive: http://CNN.com

    1. [HANDLEY-L] MyFamily
    2. Judy Bates
    3. Handley List Members: I hope you will not abandon the HANDLEY-L@rootsweb.com list when you "join" the MyFamily group. I am researching about 13 surnames and am on LISTS for most of them. About 6 of them have members who have gotten into MyFamily and have tried to get me to join or actually have "enlisted" me. They don't seem to participate in the LISTS much or any at all anymore and I am sorry that they don't because I don't have time to look at all the MyFamily "stuff". I would rather just stay with the lists as it is so easy to communicate and I don't have to have 6 or 8 passwords and scan through a lot of stuff I'm not interested in. "MyFamily" is always sending me messages that I need to check this MyFamily surname site or another and they want me to wish everyone using the site "Happy Birthday" on their birthdays etc. I really don't have time for all that and wish the people who have gone into the format would just keep posting to the LISTS! Just getting this off my chest. Maybe everyone else has plenty of time to check these sites all the time and remember their passwords, etc. Please stay with the HANDLEY-L LIST, I just joined it recently and have a lot of things to share plus a few queries to post. Judy Bates
