    2. Dear Ruth, I wish I knew!!!! All I know is that one of my Boyce girls married a Handley. I believe the time frame would be the late 1800s to early 1900s. I got the name from one of my elderly family members but all she remembered was a last name. Anne Marie

    2. Hi Anne: My husband's great grandfather was in Lawrence County OH. Augustus Constantine Handley 1845-1914, married to Julia A. Ferguson 1856-1885. His father was Constantine, his father was William, his father was John and his father was William, married to Margaret (Christie?). From Augustus Constantine Handley down, it was his son Anderville, and his son Richard Eugene - now spelled Hanley. Any links?? Ruth Doss Hanley Merritt Island FL

    2. Searching HANLEY ancestors of my late mother-in-law Helen Atha HANLEY Young Reynolds, b. 9-28-1902, St. Joseph, MO, d. 3-31-92, Albuquerque, NM. Her father was Charles HANLEY, b. 2-27-1865, Elmer, MO; m. Minnie Bell Wright, 5-21-1896; d. 2-16-1906, Elmer, MO. Charles HANLEY was son of George HANLEY and Elizabeth HINDS Hanley, m. 8-1-1848, possibly in MO, IN, or KY. (Elizabeth was b. 8-22-1827, Lexington, KY) We suspect Charles and Elizabeth settled in Macon County, MO; and know that Elizabeth d. in Macon MO, 8-31-1908 and was buried there. 1. Re: [HANDLEY-L] Still working?
    2. Gosh I hope not.. I just got some info from someone in Ca..and she was in touch with Bev Jones in Texas..and I just e-mailed Kathleen Goodman ( she owes me some info..) and I just got a whole bunch of pictures for the Thiel side of the family (two Thiels married two Handley sisters...) this summer... I am still seeking info on Ewell and his children..and wonder if there were more children for Logan Handley than just the two boys..... Since I am going in all sorts of directions at once..I tend to get a little sporatic with my research.. I still owe you the copy of the story by the twins Edith and Ethel Handley ...and have not had the time to sit down and send it..I did send it to Bev Jones for her files..and it does give some info about the family and their childhood and their grandparents.. Hope all is well with you..Cretia Olsen in Alaska..

    1. [HANDLEY-L] Logan. Ewell McK, Ewell Wilson and Era handley
    2. I am trying to verify the lines preceeding my grandfather Era Wilson Handley born 5/24/1887. Family stories have it that Era's father was Ewell Wilson Handley, his grandfather was Ewell McK )I think this is McKinley) Handley and his great grandfather was Logan.I find very little on Era's father Ewell Wilson who was born between 1858 and 1862. Ewell Wison Handley was married to Sarah Amanda Rous who died of TB in 2/1888. Ewell Wilson was said to have 2 other children besides my granfather, both born before him by the names of Robert and Edna Mary. When my grandfather's mother died he was 1 year old and supposedly raised by his grandparents Ewell Mckinley Handley and Mary E. Hall. They had a homestead in Durbin KY.I have found that Ewell Wilson was indeed Ewell McKinley;s son, and I know there are other children of Ewell McKinley but I haven't been able to find all of their names listed together as his children. It seems that Ewell Wilson's name is excluded from some of these records and I can never find anything on the children of Ewell Wilson besides my grandfather.I have seen a marriage record of Ewell Wilson and Jennie Abrams after 1888, I am assuming this is his second wife and not the mother of my grandfather. This Handley line had traveled from VA to Ohio and back to KY if I have the stories straight.Era eventually ended up in Ashland KY and settled after that in Attella and Gadsden AL. Anyone with any info on Ewell McKinley Handley, his wife Mary Elida Hall and Ewell Wilson Handley please contact me at sharonash@excite.com Thanks _______________________________________________________ Say Bye to Slow Internet! http://www.home.com/xinbox/signup.html
