    2. Could you please tell us the source of finding Margaret's surname of Christie? That has been bugging some of us for sometime [thinking that was her maiden name, but not knowing how to prove it]. Thanks! 2. Hello Bill... yes it has been a while. My house is leaning toward the side where my genealogy files are stored, so I won't ask for the long-hand copy of John's will! I AM interested in whether the transcription is accurate. Seems to me there should be some misspelled words, and there seems to be too much punctuation for documents written in that time period. There should be capitalized words in the middle of sentences. I like an accurate transcription, regardless how illiterate it may appear. Those dear county clerks! They sat and wrote endlessly day after day. I certainly appreciate their contribution to our family research. I was sent two long-hand versions of William Handley's will from Monroe County Probate Court (son of John and Mary Harrison Handley). One copy is the original that was submitted by the family; the other is the copy entered into the court record by the clerk. My transcription came from the family's copy - the handwriting was much easier to read than the clerk's handwriting. Is anyone on the list researching William's son Samuel Handley (abt.1795-1855) who moved from Monroe Co. VA to Lawrence County, Ohio? I can post a transcription of his will to this list if anyone wants it... or you can view a pretty posting of it at The Lawrence Register website: http://www.wwd.net/users/historical/ Scroll down to and click on "Wills" on the left side of screen. On the next page, scroll down past the index to the alphabetical list of transcribed wills. Bev

I surmise this was before the 1860's Anything you could give me would be appreciated. >>

    1. [HANDLEY-L] Pictures
    2. Yes..... Bill, I want copies of pictures. I will send $5.00 to your address. As you know Mary Harrison Handley was my 4th Great Grandmother. Their daughter Mary Margaret Handley married my Samuel Clark, Rev war soldier. Do you want this in cash, my personal check or cashiers check? Can't wait to get them.... I guess I didn't know John Handley was buried in Green Hill in Union. We just put a stone on my Grandfather Pyne's grave in Green Hill. Ginny Fair in Topeka, Ks

    2. Hi Bill, Are the pictures you are referring to sending for $5.00, actual prints or are they printed from software? Also, do you have any more information on Mary Harrison Handley's ancestry or anything more on her or Isaac while living in Guyandotte? I would be interested in the pictures from Guyandotte cemetery of Mary and Isaac's grave markers. Mary was supposedly killed by a team of runaway oxen on Isaac's farm, when trying to stop them and route them through a gate into the pen. Please let me know on the above. ISAAC AND KATE I HAVE NOTHING OTHER THAN ISAACS ANCESTERS. WISH I COULD BE MORE HELP BUT I'M STILL WORKING ON THEM.
