    2. I really don't have much. My grandfather's name was John Charles Hanley. He was born in Indiana along with a brother Thomas, and two sisters Edith and Alice. They all eventually ended up in California. Patti Carpenter

    3. I would say that it is very possible Mark may be a brother of John & William. When (East) Tenn., was Washington Co., NC/(East)TN. We had Handley's all in that area NC and Tenn. Samuel lived in the NC area and Tenn. When Greene Co., came abt. there were Thomas, William, James. John and Samuel, Jr. Handley's in that area. As far as I can tell, these Handley's have not been connected to Mark? Samuel Handley, Sr. b. 1751 may very well be a son of Mark Handley. The other Samuel, JR. Capt. is being ID as the son of Samuel, Sr. would not been old enought to fight in the Rev. War.? There was also a William Handley, captive of the English (Rev War) and helt off shore (NC) in a prison ship. You can bet all these Handley's tie into one another. 2. OK, I'll be patient about Mark's parentage. One more question about Molly CATER/CATO.
