    1. Re[2]: [HANDCART-L] Patriarchal Blessings
    2. Even better, if you (or a friend/relative) is in the SL area, you can go to the archives and use the computer index to get the citation for patriarchal blessings. I think you can get a copy of the blessing the same day if you wait. The computer is just outside the elevator on the second floor in the church historical dept. (archives). The forms have spaces for four requests per page (as I remember). I was at the archives waiting on some films to be sent up, and sat down at the computer to kill time. Just searching by surname, I found that my great-great-grandfather, Isaac C. Morris, had received a blessing in 1853, shortly after his arrival in the valley. I wouldn't have thought to look for his; I was looking for his son, Isaac Morris, who went on a mission to Wales about 1900. I found my great-great-grandmother, Sarah (Henderson) (Morris) Heiner, under Sarah Heiner. She had married a Heiner after Isaac C. died, and got her blessing about 1892. Technically, you are restricted to direct ancestors and direct descendants in requesting copies of patriarchal blessings. I don't know how flexible they are for long-deceased relatives like great-granduncles who died without having children. ____________________Reply Separator____________________ Subject: Re: [HANDCART-L] Dixie Company Author: shippey1@juno.com (p shippey) Date: 6/9/98 4:58 PM Last time I ordered Patriarchal Blessings, it took 6 months to receive them so have patience.
