I have a lot of friends in the computer geneaology field and the advice I have from my most trusted associate is to keep your eye on "Legacy". The last release was good but she is working with them to make the next release what genealogists really want. It is LDS based and has some marvelous features, makes temple submissions and is Windows based. I have had friends who have used and enjoyed Family Origins for years and really like it. I have uses Ancestral Quest, I own it as it came with the suite, but I do not really like it, honestly, though it does have the advantage of sharing data files with paf. As I always say, when asked my opinion of software, the real question is what you want to be able to do with it. Do you need media compatibility, etc, do you need to store pictures? .
