HI all: If any of you have something you want posted to the list, but aren't sure it is appropriate to post......run it by me first. I will gladly let you know. This list is for anything good and uplifting about our pioneer families. Ask yourself this.....is what I am sending going to fit that catagory? Are my words going to hurt someone's feelings or cause some angry flames to erupt? Always, always, check before hitting that little 'send' button. That way the burden won't be on anyone's shoulders. Each and everyone of you are good and kind. So many help others with lookups whenever possible and even go so far as to provide copies of materials. Good people. Every once in a while someone (like me ;) might post a message to the list. This message might cause a whole bunch of 'bounced messages' at the Rootsweb computer. This usually happens because somewhere along the lines of computer links one of those links has gone down and broken the chain. So, messages get bounced back to the big Rootsweb brain. The smartlist brain looks at all those bounces coming in and has to make a decision as to what to do......not so smart. It 'thinks' that 'you' have caused it a major headache with your posting so drops your name from the list and tells you so with a message back to you. This message says something like this....'you' have been dropped from the list for causing excessive bounced messages. Okay, you did cause the bounces, but it wasn't YOUR fault. So, what to do? Best thing? Tell the computer that it is really rather dumb, and then just resub to the list. This can happen with any rootsweb list you are on and should not be taken personally because it is just a machine making machine decisions. Okay? Remember, if you can't remember that I am the list manager, you can always send a message to Handcart-L-request@rootsweb.com That is the same with any list you are on. These messages always go directly to the list manager because the smartlist computer CAN'T process them as a 'command'. That works. Terri
