Hi Marie: Welcome to our Handcart list :) This list is set up for anyone looking for data on their LDS Pioneer Ancestors. Sometimes those pioneers didn't end up in Utah. Some kept going to California, stopped at the Wyoming Territory, or even stayed in the Winter Quarters area. Some died very early in the Church and didn't have the opportunity of reaching Utah. Some were dissenters, but still Ancestors. Some were dropped from the membership roles. That doesn't matter. Just so long as there is that 'link'. If you have any religious questions about the LDS Church, don't hesitate to ask them. However, we encourage the answers to the religious questions to be done privately. We had quite a flame war last summer with someone who disagree with polygamy ;) It was just a given fact that this was part of the early Church history. Utah history is so much fun and we have so many wonderful researchers here on the list willing to help.
