Audrey, Could that Surname/middle name have been carried over into later years? A few of my HANCOCKS have such unusual middle names. I've always had the thought it could be due to surnames. Well, I was always interested in the fact that you had an ADAMS, >BROCK, & DAVIS in your listings of surnames. I now think that (Capt.) Then I have a >William Hancock (believed s/o Benjamin & Mary) who is believed to have >married Jemima BROCKMAN (in marriage records as Jemima BROCK), dau/o >BROCKMAN & GRAVES.
