    1. [HANCOCK-L] DNA Match-BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!
    2. Well, we have another match and this one is even more of a surprise to me. It seems that Chart # 3 matches Capt. John, Audrey's Chart # 26. This gives us seven matches in this line with three John Hancocks born about the same time, each in a different county of VA and all related. http://www.small-stuff.com/HANCOCK/DNA/results.htm Don't forget to "Reload" the pages when you view them. 3. Hello, Everyone, Well, I tried to get into Chart 3 and can't, but was able to get into Chart #10 concerning John D. Hancock b 1733. I have tentatively identified my (Capt.) John Hancock's father as Benjamin Hancock b 1735 perhaps York Co., VA. (I think Lisa gave me some info that Benjamin's father was a John Hancock of York Co., VA, perhaps found on a CD.; however, not proven.) Could John D. have been a brother of Benjamin b 1735? Benj. named a son, John, and John D. named a son, Benjamin which I suppose proves nothing with so many Johns & Benjamins, but sometimes it helps. I think it may help in connecting our lines to look at county transformations as we try to figure out family relatives who possibly stayed in the same general area: Charles River York Co. (1642) was changed from Charles River. New Kent Co. (1654) and Gloucester (1651) were formed from York Co.. Hanover Co. (1720) (home of Benj. b 1735) and King & Queen Co. were formed from New Kent Co. Spotsylvania Co. (1720) & Caroline Co. (1727) from part of King & Queen Co. Orange Co. (1734) from Spotsylvania Co. Louisa Co. (1742) from Hanover Co. Joseph, William, Austin, and Capt. John's believed father Benjamin was in Hanover Co. (where son Joseph stayed) & owned & paid taxes on land in Louisa Co. where sons, Austin and Capt. John were. Austin remained in Louisa Co. while Capt. John apparently followed his wife's GRAVES family into Kentucky and finally Ohio. Believed brother, William, was in Orange Co. So...even with this same family we find sons of Benjamin spread out into these adjacent counties: Hanover, Louisa, & Orange. Capt. John's wife's GRAVES family were in Spotsylvania Co., VA, so why not find connecting HANCOCKs in Spotsylvania Co. In John D.'s case: Albemarle Co. came from Goochland Co. and Louisa. Fluvanna Co., from Albemarle Co. So...where do we go from here to find our family connecting ancestor?
