Joseph's results are in but he didn't match anyone. The interesting thing is that we have six matches, and my nephew's DNA is one of the six. I was stuck on my line for years and have now, connected to all the New Jersey Quakers. None of them knew of each other and we, appartently, hale from England. I will give you the URL at the end, but want to explain the chart. The colors represent matches. The rule is that if two or more participants match on from 25 to 23 out of 25 markers they are considered a match. The mis-matches, called mutations, occur about once in every 20 births, but can occur at anytime or not at all. It is like dealing cards you never know what cards you will get. Of course a match means that the two have a common male ancestor somewhere up their family line. Hopefully, by comparing paper research they can find where they connect. http://www.small-stuff.com/FRENCH/ Julia

    3. Hi Julia, Maybe this is a dumb question, but is there any way to check if Joseph French's DNA has a match with Susan Hancock's(Hector's)DNA to see if they are related? Of course it wouldn't mean anything if it was off of his wife's line. Just a thought. He could have been related. Thanks for replying. Was it 25 to 23 matches? That seems like a lot? Take care, Becky At 01:01 AM 8/12/2003 -0400, you wrote: >In a message dated 08/10/2003 4:50:59 PM Central Daylight Time, >[email protected] writes: > > > Hi Julia, > > I was just re-reading some old emails, and wondered if you had the results > > yet of Joseph French who was Hector's ward?
